A key activity of the SUAFRI-EPC project is to implement three pilot projects in the targeted EPC countries. The objective is to demonstrate the validity of the Research to Innovation (R2I) process in the field of agriculture and food industry with concrete examples that can serve as case studies and/or success stories.
The SUAFRI-EPC project team defined the following pilot projects:
  • Pilot project in Armenia between AUA and Dianova: “Production methods to optimise economical and environmental sustainability in aquaculture and apiculture sectors”;
  • Pilot project in Belarus between SPCF and Dianova: “Development of consumer preferences for fish and seafood”.
  • Pilot project in Georgia between GTU and MIFP: “Wine production optimisation using biotechnologies and zoning techniques”.
The partners involved had a high interest in their respective pilot project which supported their on-going research and innovation activities. As a result a large number of bilateral visits took place as well as a set of tailored training modules to EPC scientists. The pilot projects achievements have been summarised in a single document, available for download.
